Black cat sweaters

The label answers most of the questions a listing leaves out. The Federal Trade Commission sets what must be on it.

The FTC’s Care Labeling Rule also requires makers to have reliable evidence for the care instructions they give. That makes the care label the best guide to washing a novelty sweater, especially one with appliqués, sequins or pom-poms. Follow it rather than washing it like an ordinary knit.
